Hi, I'm Sandra
My mission has been grounded in encouraging others to live their best life possible. I found my niche working with anxiety disorders, after an important shift in my career.
My work experience started in human resources, then progressed to employee assistance. This shift in my career gave me the chance to focus on individual improvements, and behavior change. After finishing my second Master’s degree and becoming licensed as a mental health counselor, I worked at a community mental health agency. I gained experience working with a multitude of mental health symptoms and populations. What seemed to have a profound affect on individual’s lives, was treating and managing symptoms of anxiety. I developed an interest in working with anxiety disorders and OCD. It seemed like magic happened when anxiety is treated effectively, using evidenced based modalities. I love to see the changes that happen over the course of treatment, and to see how brave people are, even when they haven’t yet realized it. The effects can be life changing.
I have a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and a second Master’s degree from the New School for Social Research in New York. I have been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention and utilize ACT to augment the ERP process.
